What is eco-printing?
Eco-printing combines the historic methods used in natural dying with contemporary contact print techniques. The results are stunning plant portraits captured on paper.
Plant material is placed between layers of paper then steamed or boiled to transfer the pigment in the plants to the paper. No synthetic dyes, inks or paints are used. |
Each print is a one of a kind original

The prints I create are made from plants and flowers gathered mostly from my own garden. It’s a satisfying way to make a lasting image of the plants I nurture during each growing season.
Although the process of eco-printing is pretty straightforward it lends itself to much creativity because of the many variables that can be used that have an affect on the print results as well as the unlimited variety of papers and plants that can be used. The surprising and unpredictable results are part of what makes the process so exciting.
