The Eco-Printed Journal
Workshop

Have you been wanting to learn how to make eco-prints?

Here's your chance!
Join me in a small group setting for a live Zoom workshop where we will meet for 2 three hour sessions, one week apart. You'll learn the basics of how to make eco-prints on paper while creating a one-of-a-kind botanical print filled journal. I'll be making it super easy for you by mailing a supply kit (to US addresses only) that includes just about everything you'll need, as well as some special surprises from my own garden.

  • Discover what leaves and flowers are the best to use for eco-printing and why.
  • Learn about the magic ingredient called alum that gives an extra boost to the colors you can get on your prints
  • Work with 2 bundling styles, the flat layered bundle and the rolled bundle.
  • Explore the technique of stitching on paper.
  • Join the private FaceBook group where you can ask questions, share information with your classmates and share photos of your journal.

Day 1- Eco-printing preparation
In the first week, I'll explain the process of eco-printing on paper and walk you through preparing the journal bundle and the Journal cover bundle. You can add extra papers to each of the bundles so you'll have additional eco-printed papers for another project of your choice.

You'll get step-by-step instructions for boiling the prepared bundles
so you'll be all set to get "cooking" at your convenience once the first class is done and I'll go over the steps you'll want to take to be ready for the next weeks session

Day 2 - Making the journal
In the second week, you'll put the journal cover together by folding it, adding a closure feature and choosing from a variety of stitching styles to hold the cover flaps in place and finish the edges.

I'll show you ways to repair pages that may have ripped while unbundling them. See how these little "accidents" offer you a chance to get creative and make the journal uniquely yours and add extra interest to your pages.
