Let's celebrate World Collage Day by creating Speed Collages!
ALL CLASS MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED
You'll receive:
Four - 4" x 4" pieces of watercolor paper
Two - Packs of collage papers
(There will be a variety of colors for you to choose from)
plus some neutrals and whites for everyone to share
You'll make 3-4 finished collages using the supplied paper packs that are filled with collage papers from my own personal stash.
(book pages, painted papers, wrapping paper, security envelope patterns, tissue paper, sheet music, paste papers, maps, etc).
There will be scissors and glue sticks available for your use during class.
Cost: $30

World Collage Day, initiated by Kolaj Magazine in 2018, is an annual international celebration of collage on the Second Saturday of May. They invite artists and art venues to hold events on that day to celebrate collage. World collage day is about artists connecting across borders and about sharing an art medium that excels at bringing different things together to create new forms in new ways of thinking.
Don't think you can make a collage in 3 minutes? Well, I bet you can, actually I know you can. The small collages you'll be making in short spurts are the kind I love to do as a warm up exercise or just for fun so I can use up my small scraps of paper. Working within a limited amount of time helps keep you from over thinking. You dive right into the process and your choices become more intuitive since you have to work quickly to complete the goal of gluing down papers and filling the allotted space before the timer goes off. Ready to take on the challenge? It will be lots of fun and we'll keep it loose and relaxed.

You'll leave the class with at least 3 finished collages and any extra papers you may have left from your packs.
After class, you are invited to stay and enjoy the gallery exhibition
